Research Fields

    I am working on Data Analysis Subsystem (DAS) of KAGRA Large-scale Ceyogenic Gravitational Wave Telescope Project. I am a member of A04 sub-group ``Data Analysis'' in ``Grant-in-Aid for Scientific Research on Innovative Areas - New Developments in Astrophysics Through Multi-Messenger Observation of Gravitational Waves Sources-'' since April, 2013.
    My research topics are observational tests of gravity on astrophysical and cosmological scales. We are developing data analysis code for KAGRA observation. Recently, cosmological viable models of modified gravity have been proposed. Modified gravity theories are designed as an alternative explanation to dark energy for the current acceleration of the Universe. The effects of the additional degrees of freedom in these models are hidden by screening mechanisms in the vicinity of a matter source, but some observational signatures, such as, the linear growth rate of cosmological density perturbations, the power spectrum of the galaxies, the cluster lensing, and the propagation of gravitational waves, can be significantly modified. Gravitational waves from inspiralling compact binaries can be used to constrain extended models of gravity. We explore the possibility to detect modification of gravity by advanced gravitational wave detectors, using matched filtering analysis of inspiralling signals.
